Objective(s) of the Activity: The objectives of this activity will be carried out in two parts: The first one is to develop a defect catalogue for defects and materials which are specifically relevant to metal powder bed based Additive Manufacturing for space applications. Further, maximum allowed defect sizes shall be established for a highly loaded, mission critical part through fracture mechanical concepts. Finally, the viability of the developed concept shall be demonstrated. The second objective of this activity is to enhance process monitoring techniques. This shall be done through identifying existing gaps of this technology, then to develop enhanced process monitoring techniques and finally to demonstrate their functionality with a selected study case.
