Update Reason: Tender issue

High Throughput Satellite systems with continental coverage and in particular those using advanced fade mitigation techniques such as ACM, site and large scale diversity, on board reconfigurable payloads, uplink power control are in need for propagation models tobe used in the design and operation of multibeam systems. The current propagation models only provide site specific parameters and new emerging systems need a temporal spatial model of the radio channel over the coverage region. This type of model needs a coordinated measurements campaign over Europe. In 2013, Alphasat has been launched and it embarks the Aldo Paraboni payload at Ka-Q/V bands. This enables the experimental campaign that started in 2014 and that data will be used for elaborating and improving the developments of these new models. In addition, the new models shall be tested and validated with additional Ka band data collectedusing othersatellites (e.g. Ka-SAT, HotBird 6). The activity shall include the review of models, the development plans, the data analysis, themodel development as well as test and validation activities. The outcome shall be submitted to International Telecommunications Union (ITU) for possible inclusion in ITU-R Propagation recommendations to facilitate the adoption of Q/V band by industry and operators.Procurement Policy: C(3) = Activity restricted to SMEs RD Entities.
