Big Earth Data-Cube infrastructures are becoming more and more popular for managing satellite time series. These infrastructures are build on the concept of multidimensional data model (data hypercube) and are complex systems engaging different disciplines and expertise. Data Cubes interoperability capacity has become a challenge in the Global Change and Earth System science domains. The objective of the Earth Observation (EO) Datacube facility service is to set-up a front-office service that provides users with novel functionality to query and exploit large volumes of EO data and information resources based on Data Cube Technologies, with a scheme that promotes open data sharing. The Data Cube Facility Services will ensure the storage and on-line availability of data in the form of multi-dimensional arrays suitable for retrieving, analysing, correlating EO information resources, based on innovative interfaces and interoperability standard. The EO Datacube facilities front-office service will target different users typologies, includein its service a pre-defined data volume offer allowing to populate the Datacube with several sets of measurement data (e.g. Level-1and Level-2 products) and value-added data (e.g. Level-3 products) from relevant EO missions . The Facility will ensure to the various user profiles a mechanism for free access to retrieval, analysis and correlation functions and data and to maintain the higher-level resulting information resources accessible for further exploitation.Bidders offer shall assign at least 20% of the proposed price to entities belonging to the following countries: AT, CZ, EE, FI, GR, LU, NO, RO. Any excess to the minimum 20% price assignmentis encouraged and will be positively taken into account as selection element in the offers evaluations.
