There is a strong interest to investigate antenna solutions for a high resolution SAR instrument with Along Track interferometry (ATI) and Ground Moving Target Indication (GMTI) capabilities. A high resolution SAR instrument with ATI/GMTI capabilities would strongly benefit from the reflect array concept. This is considered as an attractive antenna solution since it exhibits low weight, low cost and low stowage volume. For such a purpose, it is proposed to develop a passive reflectarray antenna with dual polarized elements that shall be designed such that 2 independent beams (one per polarization) are generated, i.e. one moderately broad beam and one pencil beam. The study consists in :- state of art survey and specifications for the reflectarray based antenna for high resolutionSAR instrument with ATI/GMTI capabilities- Trade-off study , design and analysis (RF structural) of a deployable Ka-band reflectarray antenna (ie. dual linearly polarized low loss reflectarray elements, stable reflectarray antenna structure, antenna deploymentsystem)- Manufacturing and test of critical elements- Development plan and roadmap
