This activity will further develop the SSA SWE networks regional geomagnetic service portfolio in the area of real-time products and short (1hour) to medium (24hour) term forecasts, with particular emphasis on high latitude regions in the northern hemisphere. This activity will develop new forecast products based on near-real time magnetometer data, complemented by space based data and advanced modelling techniques in order to provide user focused products. The products developed shall be presented to the users via a dedicated interface and may also contribute to improving the forecast capability of existing G-ESC products and tools.A regional geomagnetic disturbance level will be provided and scaled according to the geographic area middle, high and polar cap latitudes according to specific user requirements for this domain. Regional forecasts will be provided along with reliability statistics.Geomagnetic activity forecasts with significantly longer lead times will need to take into account observations of transient solar events such as coronal mass ejections and incorporate recurrent solar wind phenomena such as high-speed solar wind streams. This activity will use service products from the Heliospheric Weather ESC to develop a prototype geomagnetic forecast service providing products forthe high latitude Arctic region. Tailoring of Heliospheric Weather ESC products in order to facilitate inter-ESC developments shallbe considered as necessary. The new products developed as part of this activity will be integrated into the SSA SWE system as part of the Geomagnetic Conditions ESC and will be consistent with the SSA SWE Arctic Services roadmap developed as part of the P2-SWE-XII activity.
