Definition of the SpaceWire and SpaceFibre network routing function and verification of the quality of service at network level. SpaceFibre as well as the future generation of SpaceWire will have a set of quality of service levels implemented through the use of anumber of virtual channels at link level. The routing function which allows to extend of these quality of service levels to the overall network level still needs to be defined in detail. The possible implementations range from separate virtual networks to a full non-blocking routing function that allows to route a packet from each virtual channel to any other virtual channel. The different options shall be studied and the end to end quality of service needs to be demonstrated by simulation or bread boarding. The functionality and the performance shall be traded against implementation complexity. Clear guidelines for the implementation of the SpaceWireand SpaceFibre routing function including a bus guardian function shall be established.
