Following the release of dedicated Announcements of Opportunity (AOs), the Agency has identified biological experiments to be flown on the ISS. Procurement of hardware development and services for mission preparation and support is necessary for the performance of these experiments in orbit. From amongst the experiments selected by the above mentioned AO process, the Agency will identify the most suitable experiments to be performed, taking into account availability of the necessary in orbit resources, development time, and cost of the development. The overall objective is the development and the in-orbit execution of as many biological experiments as possible, within the shortest possible period. The procurements will take into consideration the streamlined approach to ESR consultation, PA and safety, documentation and review processes. Considering the scientific requirements and the extensive experience gained in the field of hardware development for biological experiments, the procurement will be done with a single procurement activity not requiring project phasing. The selected experiments will utilize the available ESA facilities.
