This procurement action concerns the Phase C/D/E/F (including flight data exploitation) of the PILOT development, enabling ESA to fulfill all its responsibilities for the Luna-Resource Lander mission (Luna-27) as agreed with Roscosmos.PILOT (Precise and Intelligent Landing using Onboard Technologies) is a suite of advanced landing technologies (hardware and software), enabling global accessto the lunar surface, precisely and safely. This navigation kit, plugged into the Guidance Navigation and Control of the spacecraft and using platform sensors, implements the functions of visual navigation and hazard detection in an autonomous mannerIn the frame of the cooperation on lunar exploration with Roscosmos, the PILOT subsystem will be integrated as part of the Guidance Navigationand Control of the Russian Luna-27 landing platform and will enhance its landing capabilities. It will allow to reach landing areasof interest for both Roscosmos and ESA in the South Polar region of the Moon, with an increased probability of success.
