The proposed activities aims to design, develop, manufacture and extensively test a Low Shock and Monitoring Functional Device LSMFD, designed to:- Withstand the environment specified- Allow to export extremely low shock when the HDRA, mounted on a rigid panel and preloaded between 35kN to 100 kN, is actuated- Easily monitor the preload applied within HDRM during storage phase (and if possible also for flight, just before on-orbit release)Note:- Extremely low shock when HDRM mounted on a rigid panel means to measure an exported shock signature of the complete HDRM (equipped with LSMFD) at least identical, or lower, than the exported shock signature of the HDRA tested in stand-alone configuration, with identical preload. The HDRA stand-alone test configuration is in general HDRA mounted on a rigid interface, with a tie rod length reduced to minimum, meaning no or very small tierod elongation ( as a consequence, no or very low quantity of energy stored in the tie rod)- In other words, it means that the LSMFD will cancel or reduce the amplification generally measured at HDRM I/F, when mounted on a rigid panel (compared with the HDRA stand-alone signature) coming from the energy stored within Hold Down Preloading Assembly (HDPA) and Hold Down Load Carrying Structure (HDLCS), and released once HDRA is activated.This LSMFD can be:- A fully new elements of the HDRM – Integrated within existing HDRM elements (HDPA, HDRA or HDLCS)EQM model(s) (number is TBD) shall be designed, manufactured and characterised against the set of requirement, which are preliminarily provided in Annex A for consolidation. EQM model(s) (number is TBD) shall be integrated and tested in a representative HDRM configuration, allowing the evaluation of performances.Target TRL as outcome of the activity is TRL 6.
