The activity Assessment of Technical Trends in Key PNT Sectors aims at studying trends of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technical innovation for any of the commercial or institutional domains that can be considered appealing by key players, in order to pave the way for and undertake future ESA initiatives in the PNT domain..The key objectives of the activity can be summarized as follows:Detailed technical innovation assessment in key PNT sectors; Identification, exploration and technical assessmentof promising innovation avenues for the PNT sector for possible future ESA initiatives; Enhanced cooperation between the industry and research institutions on RD subjects within PNT areas of common interest.The assessment shall be based on a periodic definition/update of technical innovation directions, review with ESA on a regular basis.Experts supporting the activity are expected to be selected taking into account the field of expertise and their relevance to the specified work, with participation of innovation actors able to bring relevant know-how to the pertinent subjects proposed.
