The objective of this Kick Start is to analyse the technical and economic feasibility of new services and solutions leveraging the inherent advantages of Edge Intelligence. Edge Intelligence refers to a paradigm shift in computing in which certain data analysis processes are moved from centralised cloud or in-house data centers to the „edge” of the network. In such solutions, certain aspects of the analysis of the data and derivation and communication of insights, takes place at the site where the data is generated. The benefits of this are many and can be exploited in several settings and thematic domains, fitting into a broader distributed computingmodel that enables higher performing systems. The services/solutions put forward should use space assets, such as one or more of Earth observation, Satellite Communication, Satellite Navigation, and Human Spaceflight technologies.
