As part of the Copernicus Space Component, the European Commission is implementing a number of new measurements capabilities as expansion missions, which includes measurements for CO2 emission monitoring. The Phase A/B1 of the Space Segment took place between 2018 and 2020. In 2020 a consortium led by OHB has been selected for the implementation of the Space Segment for the CO2M Mission. The mission requirements have been documented in the Mission Requirements Document and the requirements made applicable to industry are captured in the Space Segment Requirements Document. A long process of requirement consolidation and performance assessments took place leading to the MRD. The objective of this study is to address any scientific question or issue arising from the Phase B2/C/D/E1 space segment activity. The consortium is required to cover a range of expertise for dealing with topics related to the various instruments and products for CO2M. In this way, the team shall be able to swiftly address any requirement investigation supporting the CO2M project management. It is foreseen that this study generally supports the system industrial CO2M study, especially during major reviews, and will specifically address already known open issues.
