4, august 2021

ESA Open Invitation to Tender: 1-10963
Open Date: 02/08/2021 12:03 CEST
Closing Date: 30/09/2021 13:00 CEST

Thermal vacuum testing beds are somewhat common throughout Europe, however dusty thermal vacuum chambers are not. In particular there is a scarcity of ISRU specific DTVC facilities. The proposed activity aims to consolidate the user needs and requirements, and topropose a feasible design. The study will address, but will not be limited to, the following points:- assessing the critical user needs- deriving the technical specification for the chamber based on the user needs- proposing a design with justification file inrelation to the user needs- providing a verification matrixThis chamber is intended to provide testing facility for qualificationof sub-system in relevant environment as necessary for ISRU DM, and, in the future, also for subsystems pertaining to an oxygen andmetal producing Pilot Plant.
