This activity is part of the Carbon Science Cluster of ESAs Scientific Data Exploitation element of the Earth Observation EnvelopeProgramme (EOEP-5).This activity targets the urgent need to unlock the full potential offered by the synergistic capabilities of Sentinel missions, in particular those of Sentinels 2, 3 and 5P, to develop the next generation of EO products to help understand carbon cycle processes better. It contributes to ESA efforts to maximise the scientific return of European EO capacity and in particular the Sentinel missions in terms of new methods, enhanced products. It has 2 objectives in particular:a.Assess time space variability of terrestrial gross primary production and the contribution to its estimation using observations of land surface temperature,solar induced fluorescence, fraction of absorbed photosynthetically active radiation and land cover offered at multiple resolutionas well as other records from other ESA and non-ESA missions;b.Assess the contribution from Sentinel satellites to understandingfire dynamics and their contribution to the carbon cycle based on observations of thermal anomalies, fire radiative power, smoke plume injection height, atmospheric gas observations, aerosol and burned area at multiple resolutions exploiting the synergies across the Sentinel missions;
