This procurement is dedicated to supporting the definition and cooperative implementation of regional priorities in the Alpine region concerning the use of EO-derived information into relevant strategies and cooperation actions in four pre-defined application domains that are: Risk mitigation for landslides; Operational hydrology water resources management; Air Quality; Alpine ecosystem status reporting. In addition this procurement aims to achieve measurable progress in embedding EO in these strategies and cooperation actions and to enhance and promote the use of EO processing platform capabilities for regional-scale processing, data fusion and information delivery. This shall be achieved by developing and delivering a customised set of EO-based information services that utilise scalable Cloud computing-based processing resources and high-throughput computing capabilities and fusion of large volumes of EOdata from the Sentinel missions and other European EO missions. The Alpine Regional Initiative is a part of the cluster of ESA Regional Initiatives developed in key geographic regions: Alps, Atlantic, Baltic, Black Sea and Danube, and Mediterranean. It is intended to place separate contracts for each of these four application domains.
