The main objective of this activity is to investigate the applicability of LED based solar simulators for use in TV environments inthe Test Centre. This encompasses to study and review existing industrial LED sources and investigate the feasibility of them to be used as sources in optical illumination systems that simulate the sun at one Solar Constant, in a Thermal Vacuum environment. Based on the outcome of the investigation and the requirements in the SoW, it is requested to design a model of a solar simulator, usingan optical design software package.
