Update Reason: Tender issue

Through a preliminary design of alternatives of orbit transfer solutions, the activity will identify, assess the status, and provide the pre-development for the enabling technologies (propulsion, structures, avionics) for this service. These space vehicles would contribute ensuring a strong and competitive space industry, which fosters innovation, growth and the development and delivery of sustainable, high quality, cost-effective Cis-Lunar transportation services. It is expected that such key technologies could play a key role not only in space exploration but in a number of other commercial services providing and evolved approach for other applications (telecommunications, in-orbit assembly, etc). The activity will explore efficient and economical viable concepts: chemical and electrical, reusable and expendable, and improved upper stages design and development. The following configurations will be studied: Ariane 64 plus additional chemical stage, modified Ariane 64 upper stage, Ariane 64 plus electric transfer vehicle (reusable and non-reusable), etc.The pre-development will target critical functions in the areas of technology for propulsion, structures, and avionics for expendable vehicles. The activity will take into account the recurrent operational environment of the transfers between Earth and the Moon, the logistics aspects, launch environment, customer service needs, etc.
