Phase I of the activity will study how to retrofit the CHEIA antennas (two former satellite telecommunication antennas with a diameter of 32 m, which are located in Romania) to a space surveillance tracking radar system. A pre-study on the feasibility was alreadyperformed. Phase I, should analyse the use case as a tracking radar system and decide on the antenna configuration as mono- or quasi-mono-static system (i.e. using one or both antennas). Finally, the detailed design needs to be developed, with block diagrams, costs, schedule and risks up to the level of the preliminary design review. The implementation is foreseen in a Phase II activity.
