The objectives of this activity are aimed at extending the functionality currently available to the DRAMA users via the SESAM and SERAM modules. This can be achieved by either extending the current code base with new and updated functionality or by integrating a newly developed or existing re-entry survivability code package. In particular, the goal of this activity is to develop the adequatesoftware to support mission planer and spacecraft engineer during the early phases of the mission design in assessing the on-groundrisk posed by their spacecraft. The activity is successful if a tool is developed with these capabilities. The functionality of the to be developed tool for integration within DRAMA shall include: • All currently available functionality of the SESAM and SERAM modules. • A functional split between the re-entry survivability analysis and the analysis of the risk on-ground posed by a set of fragments. • An object oriented approach to modelling the spacecraft with the ability to define a “contained in” and “connected to” relation between compounds. • A temperature depended ablation model for metallic materials. • An ablation model for carbon fibre reinforced polymers materials.
