The operation of the Large Space Simulator for some projects requires cold panels in order to establish the desired thermal/mechanical environment. At the moment the LSS facility uses the LN2 shrouds, however it requires a panel at lower temperature for specific testing activities For this reason it was decided to complement the existing thermal subsystem with a cryogenic generator capable oflocally generating lower temperatures for small size shrouds. The system will be designed to operate in the Large Space Simulator, but it will also be possible to mount it on the Phenix facility, if required, with a limited amount of activities.The main objective of this activity is to add a new subsystem providing full functionality as specified herein and ensure compliance to applicable Dutch and European regulations such as CE marking etc.The delivery shall also include a thermal shroud 0.6m x 0.4m including its thermal isolation, heaters and instrumentation.
