The EGS-CC (European Ground System Common Core) project aims at developing the common core functions of the next generation European Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and Mission Control Systems (MCS). The facilities build from the EGS-CC will support the functional verification (FV) of satellites at early development stages, the satellite level assembly integration and verification (AIV) process and the Mission Control pre- and post-launch. The EGS-CC project is currently in phase C/D.The EGS-CC will have to interface to a variety of communication busses (MIL1153, CAN, SpaceWire, I2C etc.) for testing purposes. Therefore different communication bus adapters need to be developed.This activity allows to build-up knowledge on the EGS-CC and specifically on the EGS-CC interface adapter technology, architecture and implementation. This capability will allow marketing and servicing of specialized adapters as add-on products.The EGS-CC will be made available as European Community open source that allows to build and market products based on thisIn the frame of this activity the following tasks will be done: Familiarisation with the general concepts of the EGS-CC in general and the adaptation layer in particular. Analysis of the EGS-CC user requirements and existing bus technology used inthe space domain, e.g. MILBUS and CAN, in order to propose EGS-CC enhancements to allow its use in space activities related to these buses Development of an adapter prototype for one of the buses following the EGS-CC development processes, documentation standards and using the EGS-CC SDE Implement a proof of concept, using EGS-CC and the developed adapter for a space application, e.g. a Software Verification FacilityThe last two steps above can be repeated for other communication busses.
