The Ceremony of Signing the Agreement beetwen the Government of Romania and NASA has been occcasioned by the official visit in the US of the Romanian Prime Minister, Mr. Mugur Isarescu. Mr. Prime Minister has signed the Agreement with Mr. Daniel Goldin, the Administrator of NASA.

Romanian Space Agency has organized the first workshop dedicated to the third millennium - the space millennium. The event took place on Wednesday, January 12, 2000, at the Scientists' House in Bucharest. The lecturers were Dr. Marius-Ioan PISO (Romanian Space Agency), Dr. Radu POPA (Speologic Institute and Jet Propulsion Laboratory) and Dr. Ladislau VEKAS (Institute on Complex Fluids).

The agreement was signed in the presence of the Prime Minister of Romania, Mr.. Radu Vasile.

The signatories were, from ESA, Mr. Antonio Rodota, and from the Romanian Government, Mr. Dumitru Dorin Prunariu. Mr. Marius-Ioan Piso, Executive Director of the Romanian Space Agency, was appointed as the representative of Romania in cooperation with ESA.

Together with Ms. Goldin and Mr. John Schumacher - the Associate Administrator for International Relations, Hon. Daniel Saul Goldin visited the Headquarters of ROSA and promoted the steps for a next future cooperation between NASA and Romania.
The Romanian Space Agency has been visited by Hon. Daniel Saul Goldin, the NASA Administrator, together with Ms. Judy Goldin and the NASA Deputy Administrator for International Relations, Mr. John D. Schumacher, during the morning of August 11, 1999 - the day of the Total Solar Eclipse.
