The 2021 selection campaign for ESA astronauts has begun. Qualified candidates of all genders are encouraged to register. Romanian citizens can apply. The vacancy runs from 31 March to 28 May 2021. ESA will only consider applications submitted to the ESA Career website within those eight weeks.

After this deadline for applications submitted, ESA will begin a six-stage selection process. The selected candidates will be nominated in October 2022.
