The visit of the European Space Agency (ESA) delegation in Romania

On 12 September, the President of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), Dr. Phys. Marius-Ioan Piso, received the visit of an official delegation from the European Space Agency (ESA), led by the ESA Director General, Dr. Ing. Johann-Dietrich Wörner. The delegation came to Bucharest for high-level meetings regarding topics such as the future Romanian Presidency of the European Union Council and Romanian participation to European space programmes as an ESA Member State.

The ESA delegation and ROSA representatives had a meeting at the Victoria Palace with Vice Prime Minister, Mr. Viorel Stefan. The ESA delegation was then received by the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Werner Iohannis at Cotroceni Palace. The ESA delegation also met with Mr. Georgian Pop, member of the Standing Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies and Mr. Toma Petcu, the President of the Subcommittee for Space, at the Palace of the Parliament.

These meetings were followed by bilateral ESA–ROSA discussions.
