The International Academy of Astronautics - IAA was founded in Stockholm on 16 August 1960. Henceforth, IAA consistently brought together the best experts in the world on astronautics related subjects, to recognize the achievements of their colleagues, to explore and discuss the latest issues on research and space technology and provide guidance for non-military use of space and continuous exploration of the solar system. The IAA goals are:

  • to encourage the development and use of astronautics for peaceful purposes
  • to recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves in a branch of science or astronautics technology related
  • to provide a program through which the IAA membership can contribute to international efforts for developing the aerospace science, in collaboration with national academy of sciences or engineering

List of individual members of IAA, updated on July 15, 2013, can be checked here.
