This Announcement of Opportunity (AO), originated from the collaboration agreement between the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian Minister for Technological Innovation and Digitization (MID), has the scope of supporting citizens and communities which arefacing the extraordinary consequences of the COVID-19 outbreak. ESA and MID initiated a dialogue with several user communities and stakeholders which are facing the current challenges, this has led to the identification of the most important application areas which belong to the health and education sector. The high-level objectives of the AO are: Help the Italian citizens and professionals of the health and educational sector to deal with the challenges of the coronavirus outbreak; Support the development and the adoption of services in health and in education for sustain the Italian community in reacting to the coronavirus outbreak; Demonstrate the benefit provided by the utilization of space-assets integrated with other novel technologies in this extraordinary circumstances Offer the opportunity to economic operators to deploy and demonstrate applications solutions based on space for the benefitof citizens, local authorities and enterprises.The AO wants to provide a quick and effective aid to the Italian citizens which is the most COVID-19 affected community, outside China. The proposed services can also benefit user and stakeholder communities of other geographical areas which inevitably are dealing with similar struggles. The Tenderer, intending to respond to this AO, shall selectone of the following topics: Health and Education and identify an application area(s) which is relevant exclusively to the specific context and related challenges. The Tenderers are requested to submit an Outline and a Full Proposal of a Demonstration Project within the deadlines defined in the Cover Letter.The proposal shall describe a pilot trial, that shall take place in Italy, to testand deploy in an operational environment the proposed service(s) with the support of the relevant user communities.
