Book launch ”Ask the Astronaut” by Tom Jones

on 16 May 2017

The Honorary President of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), Dumitru Dorin Prunariu will participate at the launch of the book "Ask the Astronaut" by Tom Jones. The event will take place on 24 May, at 14:00, at Bookfest, Romexpo, Arena Hall, C1 building. Mr. Prunariu signed the preface of the book and is a guest speaker at the event.

The "Ask the Astronaut" book is written by Thomas David Jones, PhD, scientist, author, pilot, and veteran NASA astronaut. In more than eleven years with NASA he flew on four space shuttle missions to Earth's orbit. In total, he has spent fifty-three days working and living in space.

What do you feel on liftoff? What is weightlessness? Where do you sleep in space? Can you see the Great Wall of China? Jones answers every question you have ever had about space in "Ask the Astronaut". The author covers everything from the training process for new astronaut candidates and the physical sensations and challenges of rocketing into orbit to what it is like to live, work, and walk in space.

The book is now translated in Romanian and published by the Niculescu Publishing House.
