Objective(s) of the Activity: Identify suitable AM material candidate(s), which can be manufactured into sub-assemblies/ assemblies for existing or future Space hardware/ applications. Define the design criteria for the chosen technologies to establish a satisfactory baseline for characterisation. Perform material characterisation of the chosen AM material candidate(s) in the joined configuration with baseline comparison using conventional materials. Apply NDI solutions to evaluate the joint quality for test samples and breadboards/ demonstrators. Optimise the joining process and parameters to improve the joint quality. Validate the final AM, joining and NDI techniques on full scale breadboard/ Demonstrator parts.
