Breadboarding activity aimed at demonstrating the potential of T2SL (Type2SuperLattices). The objective is to demonstrate the potential of such detectors in wavelegth ranges where conventional MCT detectors starts to be limited (i.e. above 15μm). As shown in a recently completed GSP study, T2SL is expected to be higher performing than MCT in terms of Dark Current, which would be a definite advantage for improving performances of instruments or relaxing the constraints on the cooling of detectors. This activity could be targeted to have a synergy with the Low Dark Current 2D VWLIR MCT detectors, by enabling direct comparison of the different deliverable detectors at (in some cases) equivalent wavelengths.
