Registration open for CanSat 2021

on 21 January 2021

ESERO Romania invites students and teachers in pre-university education to participate at the 7th edition of the national campaign CanSat — Romania, 2021. The deadline for team registration is 14 February 2021.

CanSat Romania is a project of the European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) and consists in a simulation of a satellite integrated in the volume and shape of a standard dose of soft drinks. Participants are challenged to include in a dose of 330 ml. all major subsystems of a satellite, from communications to power supply.

The CanSat will be launched from an altitude of about one kilometer with the help of a rocket, balloon, plane, helicopter or drone and will have to complete a mission and land safely.

The competition will be held in English. The teams will consist of four to six students (girls and boys) over the age of 14 (completed by 1 April 2021) and will be coordinated by a teacher. Registration forms are available online here and must be completed by 14 February 2021. This form will include details about the secondary mission, how the students will share their work inside the team, as well as the ways in which they will promote their mission.

More details about the conditions of participation and registration can be found here.
