on 17 October 2017

The selection process for the Exo-RO National Rover Competition finals concluded with nine of the 15 competing teams being selected to take part in the final stage of the competition, which takes place between 24 – 26 November at Targu Ocna, Bacau county.

The event is organised by the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), in synergy with the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO) Romania and local partners. The competition will provide high school students with the opportunity to become familiar with and to learn in a practical way the scientific research methodology, to take in new concepts, to deepen or consolidate their technology and programming knowledge and, last, but not least, to learn the importance of coordination and teamwork.

The initial rules of the competition, according to which a team from each of the eight development regions of Romania was to be selected in the finals, have been changed as the competing teams represented only five regions. The applications received for the competition have been very good that the organising committee decided to extend the number of selected teams from eight to nine.

A jury made of Prof. Gabriel Anastasiu (Campulung Moldovenesc), Space Ambassador (Suceava county), ESERO Romania collaborator and representative of pre-university academia, Prof. Alexandru Iovanovici (Timisoara), on behalf of academia and Mrs Cristina Stancu (Bucharest), on behalf of ESERO Romania, has decided on the selection of the following teams based on the evaluation criteria:
